Flying Pickets – Only You

02/11/2007 by Nikita

And this one!?

And…what about this video!

Kalidasa:
Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!

I’d read a speech of a Director General of the Department of Internal Affairs in SA one day…and this was part of his speech!

    Hi Nikita,
    This is a great blog! And great post too especially the speech. Though I couldn’t understand the first language. What is it?

    So you too are a chess lover and player, like me. Saw that world youth chess championship ad on your blog. So are you going to play?

    Thanks for dropping by my blog and posting that comment! I’ll keep reading your blog…

    Hi Meghna! Thanks for dropping by…the first Language is Afrikaans…follow the “Moth” link…there is a link to where Afrikaans originates…enjoy! Yes, I love chess and I’m not going to play at the world youth championships…just and advert…I would like to follow it though…kind of a reminder for myself too….do you play chess online? I can tell you where to find me online and we can play together! 🙂

    Nikita, ek het REGTIG lanklaas gespeel! Dankie dat jy my skaaksvermoeens bemark! 😉
Nou het jy my voorgespring om “Only You” te post!

  • Spoken by great men:"Give me 20 divisions of American soldiers and I will breach Europe. Give me 15 consisting of Englishmen and I will advance to the borders of Berlin. Give me two divisions of those marvellous fighting Boers and I will remove Germany from the face of the earth." - Field Marshal Bernard L. Montgomery, Commander of the Allied Forces during WW2.

  • "The Americans fight for a free world, the English mostly for honour, glory and medals, the French and Canadians decide too late that they have to participate. The Italians are too scared to fight, the Russians have no choice. The Germans for their Fatherland. The Boers? Those sons of Bitches fight for the hell of it." American General, George 'Guts and Glory' Patton.
