Mmmm, I just though somewhere during the past week I have to listen to them again, I’m aching to listen to them again – yet I did nog make time for it.
I have an interesting story about this Central Park concert. It was on South African TV early in the 80’s, maybe ’83. I was doing a 3-month course at the Post Office College in Olifantsfontein. My roommate in the hostel had a black-and-white TV but we were writing a test the next day and he did not want the TV on. I was married already, but I think we did not have a VCR yet. I called my wife to see if she could get somebody to record it for me, but no such luck.
I had the double LP and later the CD, but had to wait many years before I could see the concert. I think it maybe came on TV again and I bought the DVD about 2 – 3 years ago. Maybe I must just watch the whole concert again!
Hi Nikita. Ek het so paar dae terug vir jou ‘n epos gestuur aangaande ‘n uitnodiging via jou skaak link. Net ingeval ek jou epos adres verkeerd het, se^ ek dit maar hier ook. As ek jou probeer ‘uitnooi’ dan kry ek ‘n pop-up dat jy geblok is vir uitnodiging. Ek vermoed dis dalk oor ek nog nie ‘n “full member” is nie so jy sal dalk die uitnodiging van jou kant af moet doen. Askuus man! My man se^ altyd dis nie ‘n skande om arm te wees nie, maar versukkeld!!!
In die intererim speel ek ‘n interessante spel teen ‘n ene Mimi… Sal vir jou die detail stuur sodra ons klaar is en sal jou krit waardeer. Ek weet nie veel van skaak af nie (vir nou…watch this space), maar sy speel glad nie ‘n aanvallende spel nie. Sy speel meer wegkruiperkie, maar synde ek ‘n pleb is, hou ek eerder nou my mond nou. Sy probeer my dalk iets leer so ek beter humble wees en presies dit doen, leer. Kan nie wag om teen jou te speel nie. Laat my weet wat gaan vir wat. (Ek vermoed dit gaan ‘n vinnige spel wees…haha!)
