Fragrances, perfumes, scents….

Sometimes in a perfume shop, you get carried away with all those scents and fragrances and also those beautiful shapes and designs of the bottles! Sometimes I feel like buying a particular perfume just because of the design of the bottle! lol!

Three people were directed to my blog by their search: “jennifer lopez ass”! Well, I don’t have anybody’s ass on my blog and to be honest, it’s the first time I’m using this word on my blog !…which is a swear word to me.

These designs are just a few!!

Perfume is something some women are really fussy about – and that’s me too. I like a good perfume and I always want to wear something I know other people would like too. Royal Secret is really one of those perfumes that you can’t go without, but, unfortunately for me, I get very heavy headaches if I’m wearing it! It took me quite a time to realise it was the perfume that caused the headaches. I’m not a “headache”-person and I won’t really complain about headaches as I’m not getting it quite often. So if I do have one, I know there’s really a very good reason and I need to investigate! Since I’ve discovered it’s the dark perfumes that cause the headaches, I do stay away from it, although I would love to wear Royal Secret!

This is now the perfume I really like, although a bit expensive, it’s really worth having it!

Wow! This “Flower-water” perfume is also great! I got it from a boy in my class end of last year as a present and I spent hours on the internet to search for a website/shop from which I can buy it once it’s finished, but, to no avail! There is absolutely no indication on the box where to buy it from, so I will have to return to the old favourite if I can’t find this “Water-Flower”/”Flower-water”…..

Allure Chanel is also a perfume I’ve used and I would say it’s almost like Chanel No5.

Jennifer’s Jlo - Glow- is also a perfume I’ve tried which I can recommend if you like something light.

and more of “Angel”…

Exclamation isn’t too bad, I always have a bottle of it in stock for those “in-between-times” when you run out of perfume and didn’t have time to get your favourite! Even Roses from Yardley isn’t a bad one to have “in case”….

Daar is net een parfuum vir my en dis Lancome se Tresor. Ek gebruik dit al jare. Het vir so paar maande iets anders probeer, maar het op die ou einde verlang na my ‘signature’ reuk.

Nou hoekom het ek hierdie fantastiese inskrywing gemis!!!!
Ek is mos mal oor parfuum botteltjies, ek maak dit bymekaar!!
Ek moet bietjie ‘n inskrywing doen oor my parfuum botteltjies. Nie net lees ek lekker hier nie, ek kry altyd inspirasie vir goed om oor te blog.

Nikita ek gebruik al die Angel parfuum, Innocent, Celestial my gunsteling, Pink, en purple. Dan die Alien een is net so lekker.
Jy moet dit regtig gaan ruik as jy weer in die winkels draai!! Dit is net die wonderlikste reuk!!!

EK sien, toe ek google vir “Angel”…dat die tweede botteltjie parfuum (van die botteltjies), is ook Angel! ek sal dit regtig bietjie gaan uit probeer, maar ek sal moet die ligte-parfuum van Angel moet probeer, ander sit ek weer met ‘n kopseer soos min! bly jy het dit geniet.

frangrances have 3 ‘notes’. The base which lasts the longest, the middle and the upper. Favourite bases in oil based fragrances are ambergris (not available in the US because of animal protection laws) and dehen. The best frangrances are those where the notes make love to one another on your skin and let out a range of frangrances that are interated but different…kind of like the colours of the northern lights!

It really all depends on what your own likes are but I think anything with the bulgarian rose (or Taifi rose as they call it in arabic shops) and a dehen base smells good for summer I’m not sure about women’s frangrances for winter. Zara have a fantastic stock of single note frangrances at a very cheap price. They have bulgarian rose by itself. I bought the ‘Amber’ from the men’s collection.

Personally my favourite fragrance that I wear all the time is Gucci Envy.

Hi,

Just read your post. I completely agree on the bottling as allure principle. I am not too much into commercial scents anymore since I started going for Lutens and Kilian – but I have to admit my first Kilian was an almost entirely aesthetic buy. I just love the box and key… love is actually and understatement, I swoon over them!

Then again, I cannot help but think of the brilliant Mr. Wilde’s remark: “No object is so beautiful that under certain condistions it will not look ugly”. It is, I think, also highly interesting to see how commercial vs. niche perfumery act in their ads. The more commercial a perfume is – see celebrity scents – the more overtly sexual the ad will be, too. On the other hand, when Kilian markets botted libido – as he does with Back to Black or Liaisons Dangereuses – he does so in a very subtle, ssubdued, metaphoric way. Anyway, I guess Kilian and me share a passion for morbid desire.
